A general framework for multiresponse optimization problems based on goal programming

چکیده
Setting of process variables to meet a required specification of quality characteristic (or response variable) in a process, is one of the common problems in the process quality control. But generally there are more than one quality characteristics in the process and the experimenter attempts to optimize all of them simultaneously. Since response variables are different in some properties such as scale, measurement unit, type of optimality and their preferences, there are different approaches in model building and optimization of MRS problems. This study propose a general framework in MRS problems according to some existing works and some types of related decision makers and attempts to aggregate all of characteristics in one approach. The proposed framework contains four non-desirability parts of bias, response variation, errors in predictions and separation from responses’ specific region. We demonstrate the proposed framework with two examples of the literature and the results has been discussed with comparing of mentioned existing works. 2007 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

An iterative method for tri-level quadratic fractional programming problems using fuzzy goal programming approach
Tri-level optimization problems are optimization problems with three nested hierarchical structures, where in most cases conflicting objectives are set at each level of hierarchy. Such problems are common in management, engineering designs and in decision making situations in general, and are known to be strongly NP-hard. Existing solution methods lack universality in solving these types of pro...
متن کاملA Fuzzy Goal Programming Approach for Optimizing Non-normal Fuzzy Multiple Response Problems
In most manufacturing processes, each product may contain a variety of quality characteristics which are of the interest to be optimized simultaneously through determination of the optimum setting of controllable factors. Although, classic experimental design presents some solutions for this regard, in a fuzzy environment, and in cases where the response data follow non-normal distributions, th...
متن کاملDevelopment of a variance prioritized multiresponse robust design framework for quality improvement
Purpose – Robust design is a well-known quality improvement method that focuses on building quality into the design of products and services. Yet, most well established robust design models only consider a single performance measure and their prioritization schemes do not always address the inherent goal of robust design. In this paper, we propose a new robust design method for multiple quality...

This paper will investigate the optimum portfolio for an investor, taking into account 5 criteria. The mean variance model of portfolio optimization that was introduced by Markowitz includes two objective functions; these two criteria, risk and return do not encompass all of the information about investment; information like annual dividends, S&P star ranking and return in later years which is ...
متن کاملA Framework for Adapting Population-Based and Heuristic Algorithms for Dynamic Optimization Problems
In this paper, a general framework was presented to boost heuristic optimization algorithms based on swarm intelligence from static to dynamic environments. Regarding the problems of dynamic optimization as opposed to static environments, evaluation function or constraints change in the time and hence place of optimization. The subject matter of the framework is based on the variability of the ...
